2018- present  President/Owner, The Family Collection:  My practice of 41 years, has changed from hands-on to virtual; which means I will make appointments for you and your family via phone or video consultation. Over my career I have been able to improve many issues over the phone or video consultation, where many clients may not need a home visit, if you feel this is a viable option, just text me the best time and date for latch-on consultation. My appointments are schedule in blocks of time i.e., 9-12 or 2-5 pm; so we can speak when your baby is either sleeping or in a quiet active alert state. 

1981-2018  President/Owner, The Family Collection, First Board Certified Lactation Consultant in Miami-Dade County in private practice:  Services include but not limited to: Private home visits; counseling and management of the nursing dyad from birth to weaning, community lecturer/educator and maternal/child referral source of Miami-Dade county. The Family Collection offers personalized instruction for breastfeeding products including Hollister Ameda/Egnell or Medela hospital grade breastpumps.

2000-2011 First Board Certified Lactation Consultant, for MERCY Hospital, Catholic Health East. Manager of the inpatient and outpatient Lactation Services:  Responsibilities include but not limited to:

1. Managing the lactation consultant staff; hospital bedside counseling and outpatient services that includes counseling the nursing dyad from birth to weaning.
2. Weekly or monthly classes offered to the community include Childbirth Education, Prenatal Breastfeeding, Infant Massage, Working and Breastfeeding, Daddy and Me, and Parenting.
3. Overseeing the POP boutique, that offers personalized instruction for the full line of breastfeeding products and rental of Hollister Ameda/Egnell and Medela hospital grade breastpumps.
4. Coordinator for education of medical staff and grant writer.

1991-2007   Board Certified Lactation Consultant for University of Miami/WIC at Jackson Memorial Hospital: Taught weekly classes for the 1st year residents during their rotation through Normal Newborn Nursery. Lecturer for the following departments: Pediatric, Obstetrical and Family Medicine Residents, and staff medical professionals.

2007-2011 Board Certified Lactation Consultant for the University of Miami:  Teaching monthly community classes at JMH and Mercy Hospital lactation clinic for 1st year residents.

1995-2007 Miami-Dade College Midwifery Department: Developed the curriculum and current instructor for this annual course titled Human Lactation AHM 009 and/or Comprehensive Lactation Management AHM 010.

 1997, 1999, 2003 Lactation Resource Nurse Program for Jackson Memorial Hospital:  Developed this curriculum. Lecturer for this 14 week program to assist candidates in assessing their skills for the preparation of the annual IBCLC board examination.

1991-1994 Miami-Dade County Breastfeeding Coordinator for the WIC Department:  Responsible for: Lectures and Seminars for HRS Health Professionals.Provide clinical hours of instruction and support for breastfeeding education of the HRS client base.

1981-1986 Lay Counselor Responsible for: Facilitating supportive discussion groups designed to assist the woman who chooses to breastfeed. Accredited La Leche League Leader 1984.
